PILGRIM YOUTH CROSS GOES TO PALAPAR NORTE





July 29, 2012 - The pictures show the joyful turn over of the Youth Pilgrim Cross from Palapar Sur to Palapar Norte. After a Holy Mass held at the Barangay Chapel of Palapar Sur which was attended by more than a hundred of parishioners, the Cross was given to the people of Palapar Norte. The Cross was transported to Palapar Norte via KULIGLIG, a vehicle used by the people of UPLAND for farming. Indeed, the Pilgrim Cross is having an enjoyable journey in UPLAND!

YOUTH PILGRIM CROSS JOURNEYS TO PALAPAR SUR





July 22, 2012 - After Pukdol II having the Youth Pilgrim Cross, it was brought to Pukdol III. 
Palapar Sur was the first barangay in Pukdol III to have the Cross. The pictures show the journey of the Youth Pilgrim Cross going to Palapar Sur.

The Youth Pilgrim Cross stayed their for a week gathering the people of Palapar especially their young people. The Youth Pilgrim Cross visit in the said barangay ended with their Barangay Youth Day and Holy Mass on Sunday.

Pukdol 2 youths gather together



July 23, 2013 (Monday) - More than 60 young people from the barangays of Balite, Taloyan and Bacundao West flocked together On Saturday until Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Bacundao West for the 1st Pukdol Youth Day celebrations.

Different activities were given to young people such as Youth Jam, and talks and workshops in line with Archdiocesan Youth Day (AYD) 2013 theme, “Rejoice in the Lord always. (Phil. 4:4)” It culminated with a Holy Mass which was presided over by Rev. Fr. Democrito Umagtam, OMPHP Parish Priest and Youth Director. In his homily, he challenged the young people present to serve Christ just like the disciples of Jesus in the story in the Gospel.

The Pukdol Youth Day is the culminating activity of the Youth Pilgrim Cross Visit in the said pukdol. The Cross stayed in the said pukdol for three weeks, with one week each per barangay. It will also stay in the other Pukdols in the same manner.

The Our Mother of Perpetual Help (OMPHP) is composed of 15 barangays which are divided into 5 Pukdols. Balite, Taloyan and Bacundao West all belongs to Pukdol 2.

After the mass, the Cross was turned over to the young people of Palapar Sur, which belongs to Pukdol 3.


AYD: BE HAPPY!


It was also during the 1st Pukdol Youth that the official chant of AYD 2013 was launched: AYD: BE HAPPY!

This chant was patterned to the AYD 2013's theme which is centered on REJOICING.

One purpose of Pukdol Youth Day is to set the leaders of the young people in each barangay and in the pukdol as a whole. This set of leaders are called barangay and pukdol 8-man team respectively.

In line with these, the 3 barangays selected their respective barangay 8-man team and pukdol 8-man team. Afterwards, they had a planning session on some activities that  they can do to gather more young people in their barangays. 

Conrado Solis was elected as Bacundao West Youth Coordinator, Jacquelyn for Taloyan and Jonathan Lucero for Balite. Lidon Flores was chosen as the Pukdol Youth Coordinator with Justin Balbacal as Youth Leader.

UPLAND YOUTH PILGRIM CROSS VISIT




The Youth Pilgrim Cross is visiting the 15 barangays and schools of the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish (OMPHP) from July to October this year. 

The Youth Pilgrim Cross Visit is a preparatory activity for the upcoming Archdiocesan Youth Day 2013 which will be hosted by OMPHP comes April or May next year. We pray that the Cross may inspire more young people to be closer to Christ! May everyone who encounters the Cross feel His presence and REJOICE in HIS LOVE!

The Youth Pilgrim Cross is a gift to the young people of Lingayen-Dagupan by Archbishop Emeritus Oscar V. Cruz on the year 1998.  Since the day it was received, the Cross has been the official symbol of the Archdiocesan Youth Day Celebrations - a reminder that Christ is always journeying with the Young. It contains the relic of the true cross of Christ.

Brgy. Balite celebrates Barangay Youth Day



July 8, 2012 - More than 30 young people from Brgy. Balite attended the Barangay Youth Day (BYD) celebrations yesterday until today afternoon as the culminating event of the Pilgrim Youth Cross Visit in the said barangay.

The delegates participated in different activities prepared by the Parish Youth Ministry of the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish (OMPHP) such as sessions on Giftedness, Sharing and Being Jesus.

BYD ended with a Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Democrito Umagtam, OMPHP Parish Priest and Youth Director. He said that this is just the start. In his homily, he challenged everyone present, especially the young people and parents, to become a prophet who shares the Good News to other people.

Pilgrim Youth Cross Visit

Prior to BYD, the Pilgrim Youth Cross visited the different homes of Balite. Fellowships also happened where families and young people shared the Word of God thru a Bible Sharing activity given by different youth ministers of OMPHP.

The Youth Cross stayed in Balite for a week and after the culminating mass for BYD, it was transferred to Brgy. Taloyan, its next destination. The cross will also stay in Taloyan for a week with their own BYD as culminating event.

 The Pilgrim Cross Visit and BYD are programs intended to prepare the young people of OMPHP in hosting the upcoming AYD 2013 and even beyond the said event.

OMPHP launches AYD 2013 in the community





“AYD la!”

This was the battlecry of the young people of the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish (OMPHP) as the Archdiocesan Youth Day (AYD) 2013 Celebrations was officially launched today in the community level. This event marks the official start of the preparation of the Youth Ministry of the said parish for the upcoming event which is slated between April or May next year.

In a simple ceremony that happened inside the church, Reynald De Vera, OMPHP Youth Coordinator, officially announced the appointment of the OMPHP as the host of AYD 2013.

Rev. Fr. Democrito Umagtam announced the official theme: “Rejoice in the Lord always!” (Phil. 4:4). Afterwards, he gave his inspirational message. “May this be the battlecry of every young people of Upland (referring to OMPHP) as they prepare for this big event and beyond,” he said.

At the latter part of the launching, Geneva Viray, OMPHP Youth Leader, announced the start of the Barangay Visit of the Youth Pilgrim Cross. The cross will go around the 15 barangays and schools of OMPHP from July to October 2012 to gather more young people and to bring them to Christ. Each barangay will have a week to be with the cross.

“Kumon ta nu ontuktok yan krus ed kaabungan yo, paloob yon sipupuso,” she said.

Brgy. Balite is the first barangay to accept the cross. After the mass, the cross was sent to the said barangay marking the official start of the visit.

Parish Youth Ministers Assembly

A day before the Parish Community Launching, some 20 young people underwent a seminar called  “1st OMPH Parish Youth Ministers Assembly” (PYMA). This seminar was intended to prepare these young people to the ministering that they will do in preparation for AYD 2013.

These young people are slated to be the Barangay Youth Coordinators and Leaders in their respective barangays.

The PYMA and Parish Community Launching was held in line with the fiesta of OMPHP.
