“AYD la!”
This was the battlecry of the young people of the Our Mother
of Perpetual Help Parish (OMPHP) as the Archdiocesan Youth Day (AYD) 2013
Celebrations was officially launched today in the community level. This event
marks the official start of the preparation of the Youth Ministry of the said
parish for the upcoming event which is slated between April or May next year.
In a simple ceremony that happened inside the church,
Reynald De Vera, OMPHP Youth Coordinator, officially announced the appointment
of the OMPHP as the host of AYD 2013.
Rev. Fr. Democrito Umagtam announced the official theme: “Rejoice
in the Lord always!” (Phil. 4:4). Afterwards, he gave his inspirational
message. “May this be the battlecry of every young people of Upland (referring
to OMPHP) as they prepare for this big event and beyond,” he said.
Youth Pilgrim Cross UPLAND
Visit
At the latter part of the launching, Geneva Viray, OMPHP Youth Leader, announced the start of the Barangay Visit of the Youth Pilgrim Cross. The cross will go around the 15 barangays and schools of OMPHP from July to October 2012 to gather more young people and to bring them to Christ. Each barangay will have a week to be with the cross.
“Kumon ta nu ontuktok yan krus ed kaabungan yo, paloob yon
sipupuso,” she said.
Brgy. Balite is the first barangay to accept the cross.
After the mass, the cross was sent to the said barangay marking the official
start of the visit.

These young people are slated to be the Barangay Youth
Coordinators and Leaders in their respective barangays.
The PYMA and Parish Community Launching was held in line
with the fiesta of OMPHP.
